Peeps Skillet Smores (Print Version)

Colorful marshmallow chicks meet melted chocolate in this festive oven-baked treat perfect for sharing.

# What You Need:

→ Chocolate Layer

01 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
02 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

→ Marshmallow Layer

03 - 18 Peeps marshmallow chicks or bunnies

→ Dippers

04 - 12 graham crackers, broken into pieces

# How-To Steps:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F.
02 - Place the chocolate chips and butter in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet. Place the skillet in the oven for 3–4 minutes, until the chocolate is mostly melted. Remove from oven and gently stir to combine.
03 - Arrange the Peeps marshmallows in a single layer over the melted chocolate, covering the surface completely.
04 - Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 4–6 minutes, until the Peeps are puffed and lightly golden. Watch closely to prevent burning.
05 - Remove from the oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes. Serve immediately with graham cracker pieces for dipping.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The contrast between warm melted chocolate and toasted marshmallow is absolute perfection
  • It comes together in 15 minutes but looks like you put way more thought into it
  • Everyone gets to customize their own dipper, making it interactive and fun
02 -
  • The sugar on Peeps caramelises fast, so keep your eyes on the oven during the last 2 minutes
  • Let it cool just slightly before serving, otherwise the chocolate is too runny and messy
  • Work quickly once it is out of the oven because the texture changes as it cools
03 -
  • Buy extra Peeps because somehow they disappear before you even start baking
  • If your chocolate starts to seize, whisk in a teaspoon of coconut oil to smooth it out
